We recently caught up with Faequa Khan ‘05, who serves on our Alumni Council. She shared a little bit about what she’s up to now, why she gives her time to Gulliver, her favorite Gulliver tradition, and more.

Faequa Khan ‘05Tell us a little about what you have done since graduating?

After I graduated, I went to UM and then straight to law school at the University of Florida. I started working at a small firm here in Miami, and this past year, I bought over the practice and am now the managing partner at the Law Offices of Daryl L. Jones, P.A. in Palmetto Bay.

How long have you been on the Alumni Council?

I’ve been a part of the council for about 7-8 years. I joined shortly after moving back to Miami and I really wanted to stay connected with the school.

What makes you want to give your time back to Gulliver?

I continue to give back time to Gulliver because I want to continue to uphold the values of Gulliver. I want “going to Gulliver” to continue to mean something!

What do you think makes Gulliver such a special place?

I know it’s cliché, but the personal touch makes it unique. At Gulliver, it was never a one-size-fits-all and in learning more about the school, I see that Gulliver continues to excel at meeting its students where they are.

How do you think Gulliver is different now than it was when you were here?

There are so many more opportunities now and Gulliver has embraced the future. While I believe there was always something for everyone, I think that now, there are just so many other choices and variety in the extracurriculars.

How do you think Gulliver has stayed the same?

I think that Gulliver continues to be ahead of the game and most importantly, I think the Gulliver family and the Gulliver community remains a powerful network. I look forward to continuing to connect with our community.

What are you excited about that we are doing with alumni this year?

I can’t wait to go to all the events we have planned! I am most excited about the networking events we have coming up, as well Homecoming!
