On October 23, 2026, more than 20 International Baccalaureate (IB) educators from across Florida gathered at Gulliver’s Upper School Campus in Miami for the annual Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Round Table, exchanging ideas and approaches to one of the IB Diploma Programme’s core components.

A Legacy of IB Education

Gulliver’s history with the International Baccalaureate dates back to 1996, when it became the first private school in South Florida authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme. Thirty years later, the annual TOK Round Table is one way the school continues to contribute to IB education beyond its own classrooms.

Theory of Knowledge challenges students to examine how knowledge is developed, question assumptions, and consider different perspectives. During this year’s gathering, educators explored all six prescribed TOK essay titles, discussed instructional approaches and potential challenges, and exchanged ideas about the TOK Exhibition and assessment moderation.

Extending Gulliver’s Impact Beyond the Classroom

The Round Table reflects Gulliver’s broader commitment to Next-Level Teaching & Learning, one of the two pillars of its Strategic Plan. That work emphasizes rigorous academic programming, exceptional educators, and opportunities for professional growth.

By bringing teachers from across Florida together, Gulliver provides a space for the exchange of expertise and ideas that can inform instruction at schools throughout the state.

Now in its second decade, the TOK Round Table is an example of how Gulliver is building on its history of academic excellence while helping shape conversations about teaching and learning beyond its own campus.
