Gulliver students from both the Raider Student Network (RSN) in Middle School and RaiderVision in the Upper School earned national recognition at the Student Television Network (STN) National Convention in Tampa, competing alongside top student media programs from across the country. Their achievements highlight the creativity, preparation, and collaboration that define Gulliver’s Digital Mass Media program and reflect the school’s commitment to Next-Level Teaching & Learning and Thriving Students.

Raider Student Network Earns National Distinction

The Raider Student Network (RSN) team delivered another standout performance, earning an Outstanding Distinction for the year, recognizing the program’s consistency, commitment, and the high standards students bring to their work.

In individual competitions, RSN students received two Honorable Mentions for submitted pieces. The team also placed 2nd in the nation in the highly competitive Crazy 8 team competition, a fast paced challenge that requires teams to produce a broadcast under tight deadlines. The experience called for resilience, adaptability, and teamwork as students navigated real-world production challenges throughout the competition.

RaiderVision Takes Top Broadcast and Film Awards

The RaiderVision team also earned significant national recognition across broadcast, film, and on-site competitions.

Raider305 and RaiderRise received Broadcast Excellence, the top national award in their category. RaiderTake earned Outstanding Achievement (2nd place), and RaiderRecap received Distinguished Merit (3rd place). In film, Sydney Wider earned Best Experimental Film for Drowning.

During the convention’s on-site competitions, RaiderVision students also earned the following recognitions:

Arts & Culture Feature Story – Honorable Mention
Sports Panel – Honorable Mention
News Story – 3rd Place
Commentary – 2nd Place
Podcast – Honorable Mention
Sports Commentary – Honorable Mention

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The STN convention brings together hundreds of student broadcasters from across the country to compete, collaborate, and refine their storytelling and production skills. Through experiences like this, Gulliver students apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world challenges, strengthening their creativity, technical skills, and ability to work as a team.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication of Gulliver’s student broadcasters and the guidance of their faculty mentors. Together, they continue to push the boundaries of student storytelling while preparing students with the skills, knowledge, and character needed to thrive.
