On the east coast, the 2023 Raider yearbook and The Raider Voice online newspaper were recognized at the CSPA Convention, each receiving Silver Crown Awards. Both staffs were the only high school newspaper and yearbook teams in South Florida to receive this recognition. The 2022-23 Middle School Yearbook also received a Silver Crown Award, becoming the only Middle School in the state of Florida to earn the prestigious honor.

At the STN Convention, students competed in individual contests as well as the Crazy 8’s Morning Show competition where they were tasked with completing an eight-minute show in eight hours. The Upper School’s RaiderVision team earned five awards, including a first place nod in the news story category, while both the Upper and Middle School broadcast teams were honored with the Broadcast Excellence Award for their “RaiderRecap” and “Beyond the G” shows, respectively. Raider Student Network’s “Beyond the G” was one of just two Middle School shows to earn the distinction.

Under Mr. Garrett’s direction, the RaiderVision program has evolved over the course of the school year to include three student-produced shows, two of which have reached the highest level of achievement at both the state and national levels. Mr. Garrett’s students have also earned more than 40 production awards throughout the year.
