This April, eight students in Gulliver Prep’s International Business and Entrepreneurship Signature Academic Program—Emma Harari, Andres Penuela, Gonzalo Vidaguren, Simon Perry, Lorenzo Frascolla, Dylan Biondo, Eduardo Valle, and Nicolas Gershanik—traveled to New York City to compete in the Euro Challenge National Semi-Finals. After months of rigorous research and preparation, the team advanced to the top 25 in the country with a compelling two-phase policy plan designed to boost Croatia’s competitiveness, growth, and prosperity.

Their proposal focused on strengthening key pillars of the Croatian economy: education, business, and government. By applying complex economic theory to real-world scenarios, the students demonstrated critical thinking, collaboration, and strategic insight—skills that are central to the International Business and Entrepreneurship program.

In addition to the competition, the students visited Charlesbank Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm with offices in New York and Boston. There, they met with Senior Associate Edoardo Bertoco, who offered an inside look at the investment process, including deal sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio management. This visit offered students an inspiring opportunity to connect classroom learning with the realities of the finance industry and explore potential future career paths.

This experience not only showcased our students’ academic excellence and ambition, but also provided valuable exposure to the world of business and finance. The Business Department is proud to support these young leaders as they continue to grow, explore, and make their mark on the global stage.

Opportunities like these are made possible through the generosity of our Gulliver community. To help expand access to transformative experiences for our students, consider making a gift todayclick here to donate.
