From newsrooms and performing arts studios to college campuses, global financial institutions and communities around the world, Gulliver students transformed their summer break into an opportunity to explore their passions, strengthen their skills and make a meaningful impact. Through internships, intensive programs, creative pursuits and community service, they embraced real-world experiences that extended learning far beyond the classroom—and returned to campus with new confidence, knowledge and perspective.
Four Gulliver students (Nirav Budhrani ‘27, Lennon Spektor ‘27, Elena De Mello ‘27, and Teo Ribeiro ‘27) took their storytelling to Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. Across separate sessions, they explored broadcast and digital journalism, learned from industry professionals, and sharpened the skills they’ll bring back to campus.
Reese Folse ‘30 spent four weeks immersed in dance at Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program. Living on Boston University’s campus, she experienced the dedication and independence of an intensive residential training program while strengthening her craft alongside young dancers from around the world.
Ava Anthon ‘31 took the stage in New York City at the Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive, training in acting, voice and dance alongside Broadway performers and industry professionals. The experience challenged her to grow, build confidence and deepen her passion for musical theater.
Sophomore Kory Brown spent his summer in Cali, Colombia, balancing soccer training with service through TECHO Cali. He helped build a bathroom, install a rainwater collection and filtration system, and connect with residents to better understand the needs of underserved communities—including the impact of new solar-powered streetlights.
Senior Vladimir Onosov gained hands-on experience in global finance as an intern with Bolton Global Capital’s Rohr Private Wealth team. From analyzing fixed-income portfolios and private markets to visiting BlackRock, J.P. Morgan and Blackstone, he explored how financial concepts are applied in the real world—while also earning his Bloomberg Market Concepts certification.
Joaquin Dusek ‘27 explored diplomacy, national security, international economics, cybersecurity and U.S. foreign policy at Georgetown University’s Foreign Policy Academy. Beyond the classroom, he visited the U.S. Department of State and the residences of the Portuguese and Brazilian ambassadors, collaborating with students from across the country to examine global challenges and draft a policy memo addressing trade sanctions in the Middle East.
Penélope Goldberg ‘37 made a splash this summer in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where she auditioned for the Hathaway Brown Theater Institute’s production of The Little Mermaid and landed the role of Ariel! The rising second grader took center stage and brought one of Disney’s most beloved characters to life.
Together, these experiences reflect the curiosity, purpose and initiative that define Gulliver students. Wherever the summer took them, they embraced opportunities to learn, contribute and grow—bringing the lessons, confidence and perspectives they gained back to campus as they begin a new school year.
