Last week, Rania Ishoof ’24 and Nabeel Ishoof ’26 participated in Florida International University’s 305 Cafecito Chat.
Nabeel kicked off the action with a get-to-know-you “fuego” round before Rania joined a panel of local high school and college students for a conversation about activism in Miami among Gen Z leaders. Each panelist shared the social issues they are most passionate about as well as how they became interested in activism. The group discussed how their generation has changed what activism looks like, the role of social media in activism, challenges facing our community, and more.
Since mid-March more than 300 people take to Zoom and Facebook Live for weekly Cafecito Chats via FIU’s Office of Engagement Facebook page. To watch a replay of the Gen Z takeover and to explore past chats, click here.
