The honor celebrates more than a decade of sustained journalistic excellence and the dedication of generations of Gulliver student journalists.

Induction into the NSPA Hall of Fame is reserved for student publications that consistently achieve the organization’s highest overall rating, All American, for at least 10 consecutive years. Gulliver’s Raider yearbook has exceeded that standard, earning All American honors with four or five Marks of Distinction for 12 consecutive years.

The achievement is especially significant given the yearbook program’s relatively small student staff and the fact that its members change each school year. Since 2014, successive teams of student journalists have upheld a standard of excellence, building on the work of those who came before them while bringing their own perspectives to each edition.

A National Standard of Student Journalism

The 2026 edition of Raider, titled here for it, continued the program’s record of excellence, earning the highest possible All American rating with Five Marks of Distinction.

The publication received recognition for its excellence across key areas of scholastic journalism, including content, writing and editing, photography, visual design, and layout.

Beyond the awards, the yearbook program offers Gulliver students an opportunity to experience journalism in practice. Students take ownership of documenting the school year, developing their editorial judgment and learning how to tell meaningful stories through words and images. Each edition challenges them to meet professional standards while creating a lasting record of the Gulliver experience.

Under the guidance of Monica Rodriguez, Digital Mass Media Faculty and Department Chair, the program has established a tradition of student leadership and continuous improvement that extends well beyond the classroom.

Celebrating a Legacy of Excellence

This Hall of Fame induction recognizes the collective contributions of Raider yearbook staffs from 2014 through 2026. Each team has played a role in sustaining the publication’s national reputation, demonstrating the impact of students who take pride in their work and challenge themselves to improve year after year.

The recognition also reflects Gulliver’s commitment to providing meaningful, real-world learning opportunities where students can pursue their interests at the highest level. Through the yearbook program, students develop the confidence to make editorial decisions and produce work that stands among the nation’s best.

The Raider yearbook team will be formally recognized at the National Scholastic Press Association’s Fall Convention in Orlando on November 21, 2026.

Congratulations to Ms. Rodriguez and the generations of student journalists whose dedication has made this historic achievement possible.
