Gulliver has reached a historic milestone in student media. With both RaiderVision and Raider Student Network (RSN) earning nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the Student Production Awards—commonly known as the “Student Emmys”—Gulliver is now home to elite, nationally recognized programs at both the middle and upper school levels. This achievement makes Gulliver the only school in the region to reach this distinction.

Under the leadership of Tina Salup, RSN’s recognition reflects the rapid growth and elevated expectations of the program.

“I always envisioned this type of achievement for high school. It wasn’t something I ever considered for middle school; but as I continue to work with Zach Garrett to elevate the program to ensure that they are ready for the next level of storytelling, it’s pretty incredible to think that an 8th grader is capable of such an achievement.”

That same commitment to storytelling and continuous improvement extends across Gulliver’s student media programs. RaiderVision earned 27 NATAS SPA’s nominations and delivered standout performances across multiple categories. Instructor Zach Garrett adds, “These nominations serve as a reminder of the exceptional work our students are doing. They are committed to excellence and raising the bar with every opportunity. Together, we will continue to serve our school and community by telling the stories that matter most.”

At FSPA, Gulliver Leads with Excellence

This culture of excellence was on full display at the latest Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) Convention, where RaiderVision, RSN, and Yearbook delivered a strong showing across divisions. The convention highlighted the continued momentum of RaiderVision and RSN, and the intentional alignment between all programs, print and digital. Across divisions, students demonstrated not just technical skill, but a commitment to thoughtful, purposeful storytelling.

RaiderVision once again proved itself as one of the premier student broadcast programs in the state. The team captured 1st place in the Theme Show category, producing a full Raider305 broadcast in just four days—an experience that required intense collaboration, adaptability, and execution under pressure.

Centered around the prompt “Making a Name for Yourself,” the show explored identity, purpose, and the pressures of standing out.

Honoring Excellence in Teaching

A special congratulations to Monica Rodriguez, who has been honored with the Florida Scholastic Press Association Gold Medallion Award—the organization’s highest recognition for sustained excellence and impact in scholastic journalism.

This distinction reflects her leadership, dedication, and the lasting influence she continues to have on student storytellers across the Gulliver community.

One Program, One Standard

From RSN to RaiderVision to Yearbook, the alignment is clear: students are not only learning the craft, they are building the foundation for meaningful, real-world storytelling.

What begins in middle school continues to develop at the upper school level, creating a program rooted in preparation, purpose, and growth.

At Gulliver, storytelling goes beyond the classroom, and this year’s results reflect the impact of that work.
