My Centennial Moment

In 1986, Marsha Rowland came to Gulliver looking for a job. What she found – and what has kept her here for 40 years – is a community and purpose rooted in connection, growth and belonging.

From her earliest days as a Lower School Coordinator to her current role as Administrative Assistant for Gulliver’s Primary and Lower School at the Marian C. Krutulis PK-8 Campus, she has been a steady, welcoming presence for thousands of families. “Each year has been so special,” she says. “I’ve never thought of leaving, and it’s a bonus to work alongside impressive leaders, amazing educators, and fellow employees.” What has made the difference, she reflects, are the relationships with families and colleagues who have become close friends over time.

That sense of belonging extends beyond her role. Today, she is also a proud Gulliver grandparent of five, Jake and Timmy who live in Orlando and three Raiders. Dylan is a graduate of the Class of 2025, Ashton is in seventh grade, and Mikayla is in 11th grade. She has watched them each excel as students and student-athletes, just as she has witnessed for so many other Gulliver families over the years. “My grandchildren have had the best education possible,” she says, celebrating the school’s dedication to empowering students to step into their future with confidence and courage. “They are thriving.”

Over four decades, she has seen Gulliver evolve, from advances in technology to the transformation of classrooms and campus spaces, all in service of creating the best possible learning environment. Through every change, she has remained constant, adapting with care and continuing to support the school’s vision to build on its history of innovation and transformation.

“I care deeply about Gulliver,” Marsha says, who is a proud member of Gulliver’s Faculty and Staff Giving program. “After seeing so much growth, I want to help support its future and leave a lasting legacy.”

Her story is a powerful reflection of what makes Gulliver special – not just the longevity of her service, but the meaning behind it. It’s a place where people stay because they feel valued, where careers turn into lifelong commitments, and where the impact of that dedication can be seen across generations.

As Gulliver looks to the next century of impact, her 40-year tenure at our school is a testament to something bigger: a community that invests in its people and inspires them to invest right back.
