Middle, Upper School Artists Recognized at Scholastic Art Awards

The Gulliver Visual Arts program continues to shine, as several Middle School and Upper School students earned recognition for original art pieces entered in the 2019 Scholastic Art Awards competition. Their artwork will spend just over three weeks on display at the Rubell Family Collection in Wynwood, and the artists were recognized at an awards ceremony on January 26.

Two Gulliver students earned the highest distinction at the regional level and were recognized as regional Gold Key Award winners:

Carly Feinberg ’19 – Gold Key – Architecture – Residential Design

Valeria Munoz ’19 – Gold Key – Architecture – Villa Design

National Gold medalists will be announced in March and honored during a special awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City in June.

The Scholastic Art Awards, open to students in grades 7-12, is the largest and longest-running assessment and recognition program for the visual arts in the United States. Entry materials reach 12 million students in 99 percent of America’s schools and attract more than 250,000 entries each year.
