2023 Boys' Soccer State ChampionsCongratulations to our varsity boys’ soccer team on winning the 2023 Florida High School Sports Association (FHSAA) State Championship! On February 23, the Raiders brought home the varsity boys’ soccer program’s eighth state title, defeating Orlando Bishop Moore, 3-2. The championship marks the 63rd overall for Gulliver Athletics.

After a convincing 5-0 victory over Yulee High School in the state semifinal game, Head Coach Scott Davidson once again led the Raiders into Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, FL, to take on Orlando Bishop Moore, marking Gulliver’s third state finals appearance in four years. Midfielder Cosme Salas ’24, put his name on the scoring sheet twice versus Orlando Bishop Moore, with his first score coming off of a free kick at the 24-minute mark, and the second coming early in the second half, giving the Raiders a comfortable lead against the Hornets. In the third quarter, Tomas Sciarra ’24 scored the game-winning goal off of a beautiful assist by Taro Ochi ’25. The squad went on to win the match 3-2.
